You Have the Power! … to Win Club Eternia for 2014

She-Ra with Kylie Minogue

Want a Club Eternia subscription or 2014? How about for free? Sure you do. And all you have to do is submit a picture of you “Grayskulling.” What’s that, you ask? It’s MattyCollector’s term for pulling a He-Man pose.

With the MattyCollector “Grayskulling” contest, they’ll pick one winner, from those of you with little enough shame that you’ll send in a picture of yourself in the iconic “I have the Power!” pose. Don’t have a Power Sword? They’ll take alternates – humor and creativity count!

Frankly, I think it’s a little behind the times to think only of He-Man. She-Ra poses ought to count too, don’t you think? In fact, I think Kylie Minogue has already won this contest. But you guys and gals out there ought to send in your Grayskulling pics anyways. Good luck! Continue reading “You Have the Power! … to Win Club Eternia for 2014”

Border Patrol: Masters of the Universe Classics Thundarr, Marvel Universe Hank Pym Wasp, and WWE Elite Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase

Masters of the Universe Classics Thundarr the Barbarian by Joe Amato – even though Thundarr isn’t a Filmation property, he and He-Man go together like peanut butter and jelly – so it’s no wonder that a Thundarr custom from a He-Man body would look so good – now we just need a Princess Ariel and Ookla, Joe! – ends Jun 23, 2013 14:45:22 PDT

In AFP’s Border Patrol, we scour active eBay auctions for customized action figures that you won’t want to let slip by!

Masters of the Universe Classics Octavia and DC Universe Classics Red Hood Headline June MattyCollector Sale Today

With the June MattyCollector sale, it’s the calm before the San Diego Comic-Con storm. Octavia is a Horde member from She-Ra Princess of Power, so even though I like how the figure turned out, I suspect she’ll have a smaller following. And judging from many of the comments I’ve seen, this version of Red Hood is not a highly sought after one. It’s Jason Todd from the second arc in Morrison’s Batman and Robin, and he changed costumes right after that. A lot of people clamored for a jacketed version, and others would have preferred a more classic Joker Red Hood. From the rehashes, only Man-At-Arms remains from Early Access; Spikor sold out.

Today marks the official opening of the subscriptions for 2013 for Club Eternia and Club Infinite Earths. The new flight stands are up for sale today too – they are two to a pack. For your convenience, here’s the link to the bundle page for the June MattyCollector sale. The sale opens up at 9AM PST this morning.

Get the Meowster of the Universe T-Shirt From Today’s Shirt Woot

If you’re a fan of Masters of the Universe Classics, and of Battle Cat in particular, maybe this t-shirt is for you. Or maybe it’s for your significant other. Check out the Meowster of the Universe t-shirt by Charity Ryan –  just $12 and free shipping.

If Only!

He-Man are go!

Oh man, just seeing this shirt makes me think, how cool would it have been if this were a real cartoon, right? Or maybe not this exact cartoon, but at least a cartoon from that era, you know, but with cats as characters?

Meowster of the Universe 1 Meowster of the Universe 2

I’m thinking it would be a group of cats, or cat-like humanoids, who travel the universe having adventures and fighting evil mutant aliens or something. And they’d have a cool name, a name that let’s you know they’re cats. But it wouldn’t just be “The Cats.” You’d have to throw something else in there, like maybe a weather condition, especially one that is primarily auditory.

Like, The Hissing-Wind-Felines. Yeah! That’s what it would be called! I wish they’d made that cartoon!

Icon Heroes has revealed its exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con. I’m glad to see the ThunderCats Minimates continue. For more information on the He-Man bust, check out our conversation with Joe Amaro, who collaborated with the Four Horsemen on that piece. And remember, those Power Swords are compatible with the larger figures in the Masters of the Universe Classics line, like Tytus and Megator.

All three exclusives will be available at the Action Figure Xpress Booth #3345.
