Masters of the Universe Classics Battle Armor He-Man

I am hoping to have some pictures of the recent Masters of the Universe Classics figures from a very talented photographer whose MOTU collection is quite impressive, but in the meantime, I couldn’t resist snapping some pictures of my favorite hero from the line – Battle Armor He-Man.

The vintage figure was also one of my favorites when I was growing up. I was enamored with the barrel mechanism in his chest that showed progressive damage when it was hit. Between that and the spring-loaded waists on the figures, I had a lot of fun having fights between the Battle Armor versions of He-Man and Skeletor.

Masters of the Universe Classics Evil-Lyn Packaged Pics

Mattel has posted packaged pics of the Masters of the Universe Classics Evil-Lyn. The crystal ball can serve as the top to both her staff and wand.

Personally, I liked her redesign from the 200X line, and hope that we see a re-release down the line.

Second Masters of the Universe Classics Skeletor Allotment On Sale January 27

For those of you who missed out when Skeletor was re-issued in December, the second allotment of figures has been scheduled to be sold on Wednesday, 1/27 at Noon ET. In addition to “The Original” sticker on the package, Skeletor has three changes:

Left hand corrected for “tight grip”
Face paint improved
Bio updated to include Demo-Man™

AFP Ask Matty Round-Up for 1/15/10

We’re back with the first round of Mattel Q&A for 2010. Thanks to Toy Guru and Manic Mike!

1. We asked about the purple-suited Catwoman from the Gotham City 5 a few months back, and you indicated that while Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe figures were possible, there were other video games you might look at first. Now that a sequel to Arkham Asylum has been announced, how do you think Arkham Asylum figures would fit into the Mattel DC line up? How do you think the Arkham Asylum character designs would translate into toys?

There’s no doubt the Arkham Asylum figures are incredible, but they are all 100% unique sculpts so there would be some slight issues getting them to toys. That does not mean it’s not out of the question, it’s just too early right now for us to comment on 2011 toys!

Masters of the Universe Classics Adora, Battle Armor He-Man, and More on Sale January 15

I know I keep saying that I want Mattel and Digital River to give us the ability to combine our Club Eternia purchases with our other purchases, because I’m really tired of the multiple shipping charges. So let me try this another way – how many people didn’t pick up Club Eternia because they didn’t want to get penalized? How many Club Eternia members aren’t buying bonus figures or figures from other lines because of it?

Anyways, I’m kind of stuck again this month, because Battle Armor He-Man is *the* He-Man from my youth, and he’s an excellent bonus figure for this month. Between him, a reissued Beast Man, and a first ever Adora figure, January is turning out to be a great month to jump into MOTU Classics. With Trap Jaw, Battle Cat, a reissued Man-At-Arms coming next month, that would be a pretty good start for new collectors. UPDATE – Mattel also announced that the second allotment of the Skeletor reissue will be available in late January.
