Industrious Fwooshers have probed the MattyCollector.com site looking for more information on the 6-inch flight stands being sold in a 3-pack for $15 starting December 15. They’re not listed yet, but they did find the pictures that will be used.
It looks like a solid base with a swivel hinge at the top that can accommodate 3 different-sized clips. It’s not clear if it will include 3 clips with each stand (I would hope so) or if the 3-pack includes one stand of each size.
The stand design allows for both hovering just off the ground and in-flight poses. I am curious if the relative thickness will allow for the stand to work for figures with capes in the hovering position. As for price, I was spoiled by flight stands included with Marvel Legends in the good old days, but folks have pointed out that the price of these is comparable with other doll stands that don’t include the hinge.
Mattel had a couple of updates on its Facebook page yesterday. First, a reminder that the sale on DC Universe items is ending on Monday (at 11:59PM ET, if you like to really to push the limits). It’s based on the number of items purchased.
I’m surprised that not one of the products that are included in the sale have sold out yet, including the really fantastic DC Universe Classics Color of Fear 2-Pack.
Second, a preview of the items going on sale on December 15. I knew I wasn’t crazy calling the DCUC Justice in the Jungle 2-pack “Animal Instincts!”

The long wait since Matty’s first Masters of the Universe Classics Battle Cat tease (so long ago now I can’t remember it) is over. Toy Guru had cited some issues with Battle Cat’s helmet falling off while in package, so I hope that’s been resolved for you MOC collectors out there.

We got a First Look at Fwoosh’s King Randor yesterday, and we get the Goddess today. Randor is the Club Eternia figure – if you’ve got the subscription, he’s the last figure for this year. The Goddess is one of two bonus figures this month, the second being a reissue of Skeletor with “The Original” sticker added to the packaging.
Will I beat myself up if I skip her? It’s a big month for me on MattyCollector, with a 6-inch Winston from Ghostbusters and the Animal Instincts DC Universe Classics 2-pack, so I’ll have to think about it. I do like the look of the translucent plastic. Decisions, decisions!
I am going to let the pictures do a lot of the talking for this one, but, even though the Goddess is mostly the Teela figure, she is not really just a simple repaint. The reuse is spot on as it matches the source material perfectly. I also really like the color deco on her too, her body suit and armor really fit the overall theme of her character and it nicely done. Her eyes are very striking as well, though, I am sure some will notice that she does have pupils, something that the discerning fan is aware the original source material is lacking.
Another cool thing is that she comes with the same requisite Snake Armor that was included with Teela. The cool part of this for me (aside from being, you know, how the character was portrayed) is that I can now display that cool head dress. See, I like my Teela without the head dress better, but it is essential for the Goddess (in fact she does not include the alternate Teela head) so I now have a great way to have the Snake Armor on the shelf.
