Masters of the Universe Classics He-Man and Scareglow and More on Sale November 16

This upcoming Monday is the Mattycollector.com sale day in November.  Scareglow is the MOTU Classics subscription figure and He-Man is a bonus re-issue – so now’s a great time to jump into the line if you missed out before.  I’m also looking forward to the Color of Fear DC Universe Classics 2-pack.  With DCUC 11 starting to hit the US, Green Lantern fans should be pretty happy.

Mattycollector.com did not mention the next Dark Knight Movie Masters figure that was supposed to be available in November too – the prototype suit Batman.  The bank robber Joker figure that went on sale in October is still available.  I wonder if Mattel is having second thoughts about releasing the rest of these.  A lot of people balked at the $20 price tag.  It’d be a shame if the Harvey Dent and Two-Face figures never got released.

It’s early yet, but it seems like so many people have gotten DC Universe Classics Wave 11 into their grubby little hands – check out our earlier posts with packaged pics and a close look at the Question.

Customizer WeaponXII was the latest to get his hands filled, but I don’t hate him because he was good enough to send pics of the set that his cousin picked up for him.  OK, he didn’t even have to look for them himself, so I hate him again. 😉

Some early concern that Cyborg Superman would have the wide stance of the original has been addressed – he’s much improved in that regard.  And John Stewart looks outstanding!

WWE Basic Series 1

No, it’s not January 1 yet, but it might be close enough for one retailer Down Under.  Australian Fwoosher SWH happened across a fresh set of Mattel’s WWE Basic Series 1, just under 8 weeks before the new line is supposed to be released into retail.  He’s graciously let me post his review here, and it answers a whole ton of the burning questions.

Without further ado, here’s SWH with his review of Mattel’s new Basic line for WWE!

First Look – DC Universe Classics Deadman – thefwoosh.com

Have you checked your local comic book stores yet for DC Universe Classics Wave 11?  It seems that’s where they’re hitting first, and I’ve heard both full assortments and solid cases have arrived.  Fwoosh’s DisThunder picked up a Deadman at a local shop and has put up a First Look at the new body.

Looking at Deadman, I keep thinking how simple it’d be to make a Disco Nightwing.  Not that I really want one… 😀  Sinestro, on the other hand, would be a welcome redo using this body.

Well, let’s get one thing out of the way: this sure as hell ain’t Black Manta with a collar. Deadman is a completely new sculpt, from head to elf-shoe. He is much skinnier and more skeletal than I was expecting, and that’s certainly not a bad thing. I suspected at SDCC that Deadman might use a “faked” open collar; i.e. the collar and the bare chest actually being a separate piece layed over the buck body’s chest, but that is not the case. Brand’s chest is sculpted with the chest-striations and all, and the collar merely plugs into the chest to create the appropriate change in texture. Very impressive, but that does mean there’s some new parts in store for the next character to take advantage of this new “buck.”
