A couple months ago, Jor-El was one of the tougher Man of Steel Movie Masters figures to find. Until 1PM PST today, or while supplies last, he’s one of Amazon’s Cyber Monday deals for the great price of $7.69. They also had the black-suited Man of Steel Superman up earlier, but he’s already sold out at the $9.99 deal price and now back up to $13.31.
Since the Mattycollector Cyber Monday sale kicked off last Tuesday, four items have sold out. Masters of the Universe Classics Granymyr was first to go, during Early Access. Since then, Hordak, Orko, and Battle Armor Skeletor have joined him.
What could we see during the hourly flash sales? I think the Spirit of Hordak may come out of hiding. Do you think customer service stock for the Horde Trooper 2-pack and subscriber-only figures like Sea Hawk could show up?

I’ve got a feeling that the marketing folks at Mattel just gave up when trying to name this sale that starts tomorrow. Sure, the Cyber Monday sale includes a Monday, but it starts on a Tuesday and it lasts eight days (not seven, as the promo claims) when you count Early Access. To make your brain jump through more hoops, Mattel highlights four items out of the “Cyber 6” (shown above) – these items aren’t discounted at all during the sale.
Most non Cyber 6 items will be up to 30% off. Some will be up to 50% off. And then you can get 10% or 20% more discount if you spend over $100 or $200. And then next Monday (ahh, Cyber Monday!) there will be hourly flash sales, including the two non-revealed Cyber 6 items that aren’t discounted. Confused yet? Come up with a name for this sale that makes sense and you can probably get a job at Mattel.

Mattel has shared info for its upcoming Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull shipments, as well as the day of sales plan for those of you looking to pick up one for your collection. The plan is to ship between 11/22 and 1/15, but at this point there’s no way to know when your Castle(s) will ship. For day of, it’ll be offered first during Early Access on 12/12, and if there’s any left, it’ll be up on 12/16. The cost before shipping will be $300.

DC Universe Classics has one of its last big months on Mattycollector, with Ozymandias wrapping up the Black Freighter Watchmen subscription and much-wanted Batman villain Ra’s al Ghul revealing his ugly face – although I’m not sure that was intended. On the Masters of the Universe Classics side, fan-vote winner Geldor should please the mini-comics fans.
And the men of Masters now have a companion to SkirtGate – some are unhappy with the shape of the overlays on some of the new male figures, like Sea Hawk – the engineering on them add some unwanted girth to the already exaggerated torsos.
