Watch Mattel’s Video Preview of the SDCC Exclusive Batusi Batman

Video Preview Batusi Batman

MattyCollector’s Toy Guru has posted a video preview of the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Batusi Batman from the Classic TV Series. Once again they’ve got some pretty clever packaging that allows for Bats to dance with his fellow party-goers. An electronic sound chip plays the Batusi theme.

The action feature comes with some drawbacks, though – one is a relatively small lever in Batman’s back, but the big one is that it appears that his arms could be locked in the Batusi pose. I’m still on the fence for the series, but this probably means I’ll go for one of the Batmen available for pre-order on Amazon.

Watch Princess Adora’s New Internet Song – Stop Motion Video with Song from Avenue Q

Princess Adora's New Internet Song

Rafi Sen sent video this to us on Facebook and I thought it was a perfect way to continue our holiday weekend. Check it out as Masters of the Universe Grizzlor and friends as they educate Adora on the Power of Grayskull the Internet. (Hint: it’s porn.)

The song is from a very funny Broadway musical called Avenue Q that features puppets, in the vein of Sesame Street, but the situations they deal with are a little more adult. I saw it a few years ago and really enjoyed it – this is all still kid-friendly, though some parental guidance may be suggested.

Buy this Green Lantern Hal Jordan Even If You Hated the Movie

Green Lantern Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan Figure 1 Green Lantern Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan Figure 2 Green Lantern Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan Figure 3 Green Lantern Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan Figure 4

While we’re on the subject of comic book superhero movies, I wanted a whole lot more out of DC’s Green Lantern. The movie was responsible for a lot of this, but I guess I could say the same about the Green Lantern Movie Masters action figure line from Mattel. While I haven’t collected that line, I will probably pick up the GL Movie Masters Maskless Hal Jordan from Amazon – Prime prices start under $12 from a number of sellers.

I think it’s a decent representation of the Ryan Reynolds GL from the movie – but on top of that, it’s got some great extras. First, you get Bzzd, the diminutive GL that first appeared in a Justice League of America comic way back when and then featured prominently with the GL Corps during the Sinestro Corps War just a couple years ago. Bzzd will fit in great with your DC Universe Classics Green Lantern Corps if you don’t have a movie GL Corps. And then you get the Power Ring from the movie, which at size 11 will fit most adult hands.

If I could rewrite movie history, I’d switch out Green Lantern with Deadpool for Ryan Reynolds’ filmography – maybe some enterprising customizer can take this figure and make a Deadpool out of it.

Will the Masters of the Universe Classics Icer Get a Cool Reception?

After Mattel revealed that Clamp Champ will not have any figures left over for “day of” sales, many cherry-pickers (and some Club Eternia subscribers, too) decried Mattel’s perceived continued push to get collectors to subscribe or miss out. Now that they’ve revealed packaged pics of Icer, the first in the six figure Filmation subscription, will they get more flack? Icer will have some figures available for day of sales. The main difference? Clamp Champ was one of the original figures in the vintage Masters of the Universe line, while Icer was not.

I think there’s little point to try to read anything into production levels for the first couple of Filmation figures. They sold the subs in February, so at least for Icer they probably had to make an educated guess on how many figures to make. But as they can factor in the number of Club Filmation subscribers, I believe they will reduce the number of extras. Mattel has shown that they don’t want to risk carrying extra inventory – so let’s see if we have day of sales inventory for the rest of the Filmation line.

The Filmation subscription has begun! Icer, our premier figure in the 6 month 2013 Club Filmation subscription has begun! Icer ships in July to all Club Filmation sub holders with additional small quantities available for day of sales. Note Icer does not ship to Club Eternia members. Club Filmation was a separate purchase back in Feb. with one new Filmation character each month (from either the classic He-Man and Princess of Power animated shows!) July through December 2013.
