Art Asylum has posted some in progress pics of the Marvel Select War Machine from the Iron Man 2 movie. They snuck in a pic of the War Machine Minimate too. 😀
I think the Don Cheadle likeness is spot on, and the armor looks great. I may have to pick this and Iron Man up – they’re due out March 3.

Alright, I’m impressed. Art Asylum got working gull-wing doors on this Minimates version of the Back to the Future DeLorean. Now all we need are Marty and Doc in their radiation suits and a Minimates version of Einstein!
This Isn’t Your Grandfather’s Time Machine!
Seeing a Minimate version of the DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future really made my year, especially considering how for a while I thought we might not see any more Back to the Future Minimates. So to celebrate the 25th anniversary of one of the greatest movies of all time, I’m very happy with our Minimate Vehicle. Two versions of this little guy are coming to stores and we’ve gotten lots of requests to show more photography – so here’s the “clean” version for Toys R Us! Interesting announcement from DST. I can see how the DeLorean is a natural extension for their Back to the Future Minimates. T2 is a bigger stretch – the vehicles there weren’t as integral to the story as the DeLorean was to BTTF or the Vipers and Raiders were to Battlestar Galactica. Minimates M.A.X. is the biggest surprise – I don’t remember the last time DST made any products for an original, unlicensed property. Have they ever?
New Minimates Vehicle Line in 2010!
One of the most frequent questions we get from fans of our Minimates lines inquires about the possibility of Minimate vehicles from their favorite pop culture properties. Earlier this year we launched our first foray into Mini-Vehicles with the Mark VII Viper and Cylon Raider from the hit sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica and now that we’ve tested the waters, the Mini-Vehicle line is ready to go into overdrive!

It’s too bad DST and AFX couldn’t find a way to include Angel in both these sets. I’m glad to be able to complete a set of the five original X-Men, but I don’t think it will be fun to track down Angel.
