Coming off an amazing successful debut at New York Comic Con, Pop Culture Shock Collectibles are proud to offer the pen-ultimate bad-a$$ from Mortal Kombat; GORO!
This Shokan warlord joins the ranks of other PCSC warriors, brought to life by PCSC’s master sculptors and artists.
“There are a few characters that are constantly being demanded by our fans & followers,” said Jerry Macaluso, President of PCSC, “Goro is arguably the one that collectors are most vocal about.”
Shao Kahn’s master of destruction is rendered as he appeared in the original Mortal Kombat games 1-4, featuring real cloth clothing and a certificate of authenticity. I didn’t have a plan when I got on the floor at New York Comic Con yesterday, but I lucked out and ran right into the display area for Pop Culture Shock Collectibles. Jerry Macaluso has carved out a nice niche of high-end collectibles, including statues, busts, and mixed media sculpture. Unfortunately for me, it’s way out of my budget.
I just happened to come across information on this 1/6 scale Mortal Kombat Sub-Zero by WorldBox Ltd, a company I have not heard of, but was apparently awarded the Mortal Kombat license from Warner Bros. for 1/6 scale figures. Sub-Zero is the first, due out in 4Q this year, and WorldBox is promising to follow up with more. They’ve mentioned Kung Lao, Scorpion, and Jade, to start. Sub-Zero comes with a bunch of accessories, including a bloody skull and spine and an ice sword that you can use to “impale” other figures with a clever blood splatter attachment.

Nothing says FLAWLESS VICTORY like a life size bust of Mortal Kombat’s Sub Zero. I can see putting this near my front door to scare the crap out of trick or treaters this Halloween. There will be three versions – a standard version with painted eyes, a limited PERS-like poseable eyes version for a 200-piece Sideshow exclusive, and Pop Culture Shock’s own 50-piece exclusive with light-up eyes.
Pop Culture Shock’s Jerry Macaluso has been sculpting some very provocative Darkstalkers and Street Fighter mixed media statues, so I can only imagine what he’ll do with a *life size* bust of Sonya Blade. GET OVER HERE!
