I’m overdue on posting this look at Kasual Friday’s Big Screen and Comic Book Superstars. Our long-time pal Scott George sent them to us right before the holidays. Scott launched KasFri a few years ago, after a successful run at Hasbro overseeing Marvel Legends and Marvel Universe. With his experience with licensed properties and toys, Scott picked up licenses for mini-figures and apparel for some of the mainstay pop culture brands – wave 2 and 2.5 of Superstars covers Rocky, Robocop, the Phantom, and Evil Dead.

Kasual Friday Big Screen and Comic Book Superstars Preview

It’s been raining in California for days, but I can’t complain – it’s the start of the weekend and I’m opening toys. Today’s booty – a bunch of Big Screen and Comic Book Superstars from Kasual Friday. In the mix are the figures from Rocky II, III, and IV, and Ash from Army of Darkness, Robocop, and the Phantom. Our longtime pal Scott George, one of the founders of Kasual Friday, sent these over from the East Coast (where the weather hasn’t been much better). Thanks, Scott!

Now, it will take me some time to get take proper pics, but this being Friday and the toys being from Kasual Friday, I felt compelled to put something up today. And, when I do have better pics, we’ll also do a Free Stuff giveaway of the Italian Stallion and Clubber Lang. One lucky winner will get the pair with Rocky in his yellow trunks, because we all know it’s more fun when Clubber wins. And yes, I know – Clubber wears the blue trunks in that fight, but as Wesley Snipes says, always bet on black. (Translation: we only have Clubber in his black trunks.)

Kasual Friday Rocky and Robocop Superstars Wave 2 and 2.5 Press Pics

Our good friend Scott George from Kasual Friday sent us pics of waves 2 and 2.5 of their Big Screen Superstars line of figures. For those of you who’ve been collecting for a few years, Scott previously was on the Marvel team at Hasbro, and was one of the driving forces behind the Marvel Universe and Marvel Legends lines.

Just around three years ago, Scott was one of the founders of Kasual Friday. Since then they’ve picked up a number of pop culture licenses for both figures and clothing; they can be found at your local comic book store as well as through online retailers like Entertainment Earth and BigBadToyStore. These newest waves of Superstars focus on Robocop and Rocky. How can you not love that Clubber Lang figure from wave 2.5? My prediction? Pain.

NECA TOY FAIR 2013 NEW ITEMS
NECA had a variety of new items to show at Toy Fair this past weekend. These include a 1/4 Scale Superman from the upcoming “Man of Steel” movie, which was priced at $84.99. They also announced two 1/4 Scale Batman figures at $84.99 each, one in the Adam West look from 1964 and the other in the Michael Keaton look from 1989’s “Batman”. “Pacific Rim” will be getting a line of 7″ figures, with the first assortment containing Gipsy Danger, Crimson Typhoon, and Knifehead; we have them available at $53.99 for the Set of three, or $229.99 for the Case of 14 ($69 off the MSRP, breakdown currently unknown). The Predators 7″ figure series is getting a ninth assortment, which includes Jungle Encounter Dutch, Jungle Disguise Dutch and Water Emergence Predator, like the “Pacific Rim” assortment, this one is available both as a Set of three for $53.99 and as a Case of 14 at $229.99, saving you $69 off of the MSRP. The upcoming “Lone Ranger” film has a number of figures on the way; 1/4 Scale figures of the Lone Ranger and Tonto at $84.99 each, 7″ Head Knockers of the Lone Ranger and Tonto at $19.99 each, and 7″ Figures, with a Set of the Lone Ranger and Tonto at $36.99 or the Case of 8 figures (breakdown unknown) at $134.99, $35 off the MSRP. Kitai from “After Earth” will soon be available as a 7″ Scale action figure, priced at $18.99. The second line of 6″ figures from the KickAss series come from “KickAss 2″, and the assortment includes KickAss, Hit Girl and MF-er.
