SDCC 2013: MATRIX Photo Booth – Cosplay and More Gallery – Thursday

SDCC 2013 - Matrix Photo Booth - Thursday

Here’s Thursday, the second day (officially the first day since Preview Night doesn’t count) of San Diego Comic-Con, as shot by Richard of the MATRIX Photo Booth. Thursday is when the cosplayers really start coming out, because on Preview Night folks are worried about getting badges and aren’t so keen on dressing up for the short evening of Con.

There’s over 250 shots in this gallery, and over a thousand for the five days of SDCC. If you missed it, check out SDCC 2013 Preview Night as seen by MATRIX.

SDCC 2013: Diamond Select Toys Marvel Select, Minimates and More

SDCC 2013 - Diamond Select Toys

We’re still working through pics from San Diego Comic-Con. This set is from Sandman’s visit to the Diamond Select Toys booth. They had a lot on display – the usual suspects like Marvel Select and Marvel Minimates were joined by some newcomers. In the “Select” brand it looks like DST will be adding a Sin City Select line as the sequel to the Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller hit comes to fruition. On the Minimates front, it looks like Tomb Raider will be joining the Marvel and Walking Dead lines. And who doesn’t love Femme Fatales?

I’ll have to review my own DST pics – I am surprised not to see Star Trek Select in here. I’m not sure if that’s because they didn’t have any on display or if Sandman hates Star Trek. I think I would recall if they had anything on display past Kirk, Spock, and Picard. [/Ron]

SDCC 2013: MATRIX Photo Booth – Cosplay and More Gallery – Preview Night

SDCC 2013 - Matrix Photo Booth - Preview Night

When my friend Richard saw that I webswiped a San Diego Comic-Con cosplay gallery because I hadn’t taken any pics of my own, he offered me his pictures. Richard (also known as ActionFiguresRule on the toy boards) is the owner of a unique service – the MATRIX Photo Booth. Think of one of those photo booths at the mall in which you pose inside the booth and get a strip of pictures after a few minutes – only with MATRIX, the booth is portable, and you can get your pictures with almost no wait at all. It’s great for events of all kinds – just take a look at these pictures!

Richard shot all five days of Comic-Con, so we’ll be running one each day this week, Monday through Friday. In total, there’s over a thousand pictures for your enjoyment. Here’s Preview Night!

WebSwipe: San Diego Comic-Con 2013 Cosplay Gallery

The Comic-Con 2013 Cosplay Gallery

One thing I haven’t done in a while is take pictures of booth babes and cosplayers at SDCC. Frankly, there’s just so many of them at the big show that I’d never get where I needed to be if I was shooting them all.

Luckily, Norman Chan faced no such predicament. He’s posted an SDCC 2013 Cosplay Gallery with over 850 pics from this year’s Con. It’s jam-packed with really excellent portraits. Enjoy!

SDCC 2013: Sideshow Collectibles Instapics

Sideshow collage

SDCC is pretty busy, and I don’t often have enough time to just walk around and look at stuff. The Sideshow booth is one location where I definitely love to spend time just soaking it all in. I don’t usually take pictures of the larger items with my “real” camera – it’s somewhat torturous because there’s so much goodness there, and I would just be killing myself processing pictures of stuff that is way beyond my means to collect. (I did capture most of the Hot Toys displays at Sideshow in an earlier post.)

Still, I couldn’t resist snapping some shots with my phone camera. With no polarizing filter, it’s impossible to get a shot of the glass displays without getting some reflection of lights or other things in the shot. And I guess for these pictures, the glare and reflections are part of the fun.
