SDCC 2015: Mezco Announces Pair of Breaking Bad Exclusives

Pre-orders for 12-inch Heisenberg and 6-inch Saul Goodman open Friday, May 15

Mezco SDCC 2015 exclusive Breaking Bad Saul Goodman and Heisenberg

Mezco has announced two more exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con 2015 – a pair of Breaking Bad figures. Saul Goodman gets a repaint and his packaging will serve as a diorama of his office – gotta love those Corinthian columns and the U.S. Constitution mural! Walter White, aka Heisenberg, gets the 12-inch treatment with a new deco – a black jacket and blue shirt. Heisenberg features a removable hat and interchangeable glasses and sunglasses.

Pre-orders go live on Friday, May 15. The 6-inch SDCC exclusive Saul Goodman will set you back $30, while the 12-inch SDCC exclusive Heisenberg will set you back $40. That’s cheap, compared to a Blue Sky addiction!

SDCC 2015: Mezco Toyz Reveals Mortal Kombat X Sub-Zero Exclusive

Pre-orders for 6-inch Sub-Zero Ice Clone start May 12

Mezco Mortal Kombat X Sub-Zero Ice Clone exclusive 1

Mezco has revealed the first of its exclusives for San Diego Comic-Con, the Sub-Zero ice clone from Mortal Kombat X. Recreated in 3D using the digital assets from the Mortal Kombat X video game and produced in translucent ice blue, this limited edition Sub-Zero will fit in great with the rest of the upcoming Mortal Kombat X figures from Mezco.

I am pretty sure this will be a much better Con exclusive than the Sub Zero I picked up from Jazwares many years ago. I remember opening that sucker up right on the show floor, only for its head to fall off. I put it back in the box and never opened it again. That one hurt.

But that’s another era and another licensor – I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Mezco on this line thus far. But what I’m really waiting for is for some One:12 Collective goodness to be announced. It has begun!

SDCC 2015: Mattel Reveals First Con Exclusives for Ghostbusters and Masters of the Universe Classics

Pre-orders for Courtroom Battle Egon, Rotar vs Twistoid, and Hover Robots start 5/28

Mattel SDCC 2015 Exclusives - Ghostbusters Egon, Masters of the Univers Classics Rotar vs Twistoid and Hover Robots

The gang at Mattycollector has started their reveals for San Diego Comic-Con. I am a little surprised that first out of the gate is the Courtroom Battle Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters – it’s been a few years since the courtroom versions of Venkman (2011) and Stantz (2012) were released with the Scoleri brothers, so it might be a tough sell except for the Ghostbuster fans who must complete that trio. I think the suit coloring is a little light, but might make for some better contrast with the other two.

From Masters of the Universe Classics comes the Rotar vs Twistoid 2-pack, which harkens back to Rokkon and Stonedar from two years ago – let’s see if there’s some price creep from the $60 those cost. And we’ll also see the return of the Hover Robots 3-pack, which is the traveling convention exclusive. Somehow I suspect that will be the toughest of the three exclusives to get.

Mattel will use the same system as last year, with pick-up at the show nearby the Convention Center. The pre-order vouchers will go up for sale May 28 for Early Access, and June 1 for All Access.

Stay tuned for more reveals. What do you think they’ll have for DC Comics exclusives this year?

Webswipe: NECA Unveils Con Exclusive Terminator 2 Endoskeleton – San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog

Glow-in-the-dark Terminator is homage to the classic Kenner line

NECA SDCC exclusive Terminator 2 Retro Endoglow Endoskeleton

NECA is going retro with a couple of its Con exclusives. The SDCC Unofficial Blog got the first look at the Terminator 2 Retro Endoglow Endoskeleton (that’s a mouthful) which will debut at San Diego Comic-Con this July. While the packaging harkens back to the Kenner Terminator 2 line from the 90’s, the figure itself has got modern-day sculpt and articulation from NECA. Even if you’re not a fan of the GITD gimmick, it’s just a paint app that’s unnoticeable in normal light, so this figure should fit in nicely with your Terminator figures from previous NECA runs. And since Terminator: Genisys opens this July, with the iconic Terminator endoskeletons virtually unchanged from their earlier incarnations, this could be the start of your Terminator army if you don’t have one yet.

Action Figure Insider revealed the other Kenner retro exclusive – a nifty translucent Ambush Predator that includes a couple of interchangeable vac-metal masks. Both the Terminator and Predator exclusives will be available at SDCC, other regional cons, and presumably online. Terminated.

Kickstarter Monday: Boss Fight Studio Skeleton and Four Horsemen Ravens Variants [Updated]

Kickstarter Monday - Boss Fight Studio Skeleton and Four Horsemen Raven Variants

These two Kickstarter campaigns are already past their funding stages, but there’s still exciting developments for this week’s Kickstarter update. Boss Fight Studio was at G.I. JOE Con this weekend, but before they left for the show they gave us a first look at one of the most highly anticipated figures of the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. campaign. And while the Four Horsemen previously completed fulfillment of the Gothitropolis Ravens and are now ramping up for production on Mythic Legions, they have revisited the former and are making two variant birds available through Action Figure Xpress.
