Mattel didn’t have a whole lot out for Masters of the Universe Classics on Preview Night – there were a few empty shelves reserved for after their MattyPalooza panel on Friday – but what they did show was kind of mind-blowing.

With DC Universe Classics pulling back from retail, we expected fewer reveals to open up San Diego Comic-Con. Mattel had a few reveals in Club Infinite Earths – Poison Ivy and Black Mask, and also had packaged samples of the DC Universe All-Stars lineup. I also snapped some pics of The Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters – I haven’t seen these yet at retail, even though they’ve been out for a few weeks.

There was some buzz around the Hasbro booth that Marvel Universe would be slowing down at retail – of course this was all speculation from Marvel fans at San Diego Comic-Con, and not confirmed or denied by any Hasbro folks (they were scarce at Preview Night). It’s tough for me to judge how much new stuff they did have out, so let me know what you think.
