May the Fourth Be With You – Win Jabba the Hutt’s Throne Room from Sideshow Collectibles

Sideshow Jabba the Hutt plus more Sideshow Han Solo in Carbonite

I should have known Sideshow would be celebrating today – they’ve got a special May the Fourth landing page for Star Wars Day that highlights a free keychain promotion. But before you scoff at such a meager offering that wouldn’t befit even the Rebel scum, they also have a giveaway for all the Sideshow 1/6 scale pieces to recreate Jabba the Hutt’s throne room. It includes Jabba himself, his throne, Bib Fortuna, Princess Leia in her bounty hunter disguise, all of Jabba’s little creaturs including Salacious Crumb, and Han Solo encased in Carbonite – that’s a pretty amazing prize pack.

This is the kind of giveaway that I’d love to win but would ruin me. So far I’ve escaped collecting Star Wars, but if I got a jump start in 1/6 scale like this? Not even Yoda would be able to stop me.

Win the Hot Toys Tony Stark and Mark XLII Diecast from Sideshow Collectibles

Tony Stark by Hot Toys Iron Man Mark XLII by Hot Toys

With Iron Man 3 opening in the States next weekend, Sideshow is caught up in the frenzy, and I’m not complaining. They already have one Hot Toys giveaway up on their website, for the Iron Man Mark II – Armor Unleashed Version, and they’ve just added another Hot Toys giveaway, this time for two figures, to the Sideshow Facebook page.

Up for grabs in this giveaway are the Hot Toys Tony Stark MMS and the Mark XLII Diecast. Not too shabby. Good luck!

WebSwipe: Daniel Picard’s 1:1 Toys

Daniel Picard Photography

I came across the Daniel Picard Photography website via a Sideshow Toys Facebook post and have been cursing his photography and Photoshop skills ever since. He has filled up his 1:1 Toys project by “using collectible toys and and giving them the illusion of being full-size.”

His shots include figures from Sideshow Collectibles, Hot Toys, 3A Toys, and more – now I envy his collection too.

Sideshow Celebrates Iron Man 3 with Hot Toys Iron Man Mark II Giveaway and Life-Sized Mark XLII

Hot Toys Iron Man Mark II Armor Unleashed LIfe-Sized Iron Man Mark 42

Sideshow Collectibles is celebrating the Iron Man 3 movie with a Hot Toys giveaway and the launch of the life-sized Mark 42 (for those of you who are Roman numeral challenged) statue. On the Iron Man 3 celebration page you’ll be able to sign up for their mailing list, which will let you know when you can pre-order the exclusive Hot Toys battle-damaged Mark VII armor from the Avengers line. In addition, you’ll be able to sign up for their giveaway of the Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 2 Armor Unleashed version – you know, this is the Iron Man armor that the Skrull-that-looks-like-Don-Cheadle (who replaced Rhodey in the second movie) stole to give to the US military.

The life-sized Iron Man Mark XLII by Beast Kingdom turned out a little more expensive than I thought it would. I had used the life-sized T-800 endoskeleton, which costs a mere $5,999.99, as a comp. But the Iron Man statue is clocking in at $8,499.99 – for that price it ought to include the Iron Babe standing next to it (but it doesn’t.) I suppose I’ll add it to the “if I win the lottery” list.
