More light-up goodness from the Spin Master Tron line!
Target has been marking down the Tron stuff as of late, so I finally picked up the Light Runner. Unlike the Light Cycle, this vehicle does not have sound features, however, its size more than makes up for that lack.
I continue to be impressed by Spin Master’s “Tron Legacy” line with this new light cycle. From the package, to the vehicle itself, to the accessory, you get every cent worth out of your $19.95.
There are few films that have had such a marketing push and viral marketing strategy as the upcoming TRON Legacy, the sequel, re-imagining of the original 80’s classic TRON. And as usual, with a big movie push, comes big movie merchandise.
The most exciting of the new TRON Legacy line from Spin Master, to me, is the 7″ Impulse-Projection-Technology figures. Admittedly, this is a gimmick, but it’s a damn cool one, and unique at that.

I’ll admit that I wasn’t that thrilled by how Spin Master handled the Last Airbender action figures, but I’m willing to give them another shot with the TRON: Legacy line of toys. I’ll hope that under Disney’s guidance these turn out better.
Both the 12-inch and 7.5-inch figure lines will feature facial images that are projected into / onto the heads. The prototypes for the smaller figures include some nice articulation for a toy with a lot of electronics – perhaps that accounts for the non-standard size.
