May the Fourth Be With You – Hasbro Celebrates Star Wars Day with 20% Discount Code for Star Wars at HasbroToyShop.com

I think I’ve lost any geek cred I ever had. I had no idea that April 28th was Masters of the Universe Day, and that tomorrow, May 4th, is Star Wars Day! And we have another politician to thank – the May 4 Star Wars Day is attributable to the U.K.’s recently departed Margaret Thatcher. True story.

But Hasbro hasn’t forgotten, and has even put together a special promotion for us Star Wars fans. Use code “SWFANDAY” on any Star Wars HasbroToyShop purchases on Star Wars Day and you’ll get a 20% discount. The discount even covers the wildly popular Angry Birds Star Wars products, including the Angry Birds Star Wars Jenga Death Star Game, which is not only a massive jumble of brand names, but also includes an inexplicable and must-have Chewbacca “Furball” Angry Bird exclusive figure.

WebSwipe: Daniel Picard’s 1:1 Toys

Daniel Picard Photography

I came across the Daniel Picard Photography website via a Sideshow Toys Facebook post and have been cursing his photography and Photoshop skills ever since. He has filled up his 1:1 Toys project by “using collectible toys and and giving them the illusion of being full-size.”

His shots include figures from Sideshow Collectibles, Hot Toys, 3A Toys, and more – now I envy his collection too.

Star Wars Prequel Trilogy Haters Beware – Jar Jar Binks MIMOBOT a Reality

SW_JarJarBinks_LTDED_MIMOBOT

Last year, Mimoco yanked the chains of Star Wars prequel trilogy haters by announcing the Jar Jar Binks MIMOBOT USB flash drive – as an April Fool’s Day joke. Fast forward to this year’s April Fool’s – prequel haters brace yourself – they’re really doing it. The Jar Jar Binks MIMOBOT is available on the Mimoco website in limited quantities – 500 to be precise.

The joke now is that some hardcore Star Wars collectors may find themselves in a quandary that would challenge even Yoda: pick up what is sure to be an extremely limited exclusive for their collections, or skip the most hated character in the Star Wars universe. To help you say no, if you get Jar Jar and install the accompanying software, you’ll get a dose of Jar Jar Binks sound bites every time you plug him into your computer. Yousa people gonna die.

Check Out the G.I. JOE Online BOGO Deals During Toys R Us Two Day Sale

I’ve been getting email from Toys R Us advertising their “lowest prices of the season” during the two-day sale today and tomorrow – pushing deals at their bricks and mortar locations. While my local TRU has got deals on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spider-Man, and Star Wars in-store, that doesn’t mean online shoppers are left out in the cold.

The online store is running a Buy One Get One 50% Off deal on G.I. JOE right now.

Although prices of Joes have been going up, the BOGO deal helps a bit. There’s a total of forty-four items in the G.I. JOE BOGO sale right now. Happy shopping!
