Speaking of Sideshow, I thought that their Superman: Man of Steel Premium Format Figure wouldn’t be available to pre-order until the end of the month, when their giveaway for Supes ends. But there’s not denying the mojo from Man of Steel opening in theaters today.

The Sideshow Superman is in 1/4 scale, so better make space for this massive figure. The Superman Premium Format Figure is available to pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles, and it’s already pre-sold out at BigBadToyStore.

Hot Toys Reveals Superman: Man of Steel Figure

Hot Toys teased their Superman: Man of Steel figure a few weeks ago, and I guess with the movie opening today they couldn’t wait any longer to reveal the figure. Some people have said that the figure is a bit too bulked up compared to Henry Cavill – and while I agree, I think it’s the right thing for a super-heroic figure.

I know a few folks who lost their Kryptonite over the Premium Format Superman that Sideshow offered for pre-order earlier in the year. And understandably so – the figure somehow evokes Christopher Reeves while having a more comic book superhero physique. Sideshow is about to do it again, with their Premium Format Superman from Man of Steel.

They posted the teaser image above, and best of all it’s attached to a giveaway of the Premium Format Man of Steel Superman figure. The entry period closes at the end of the month – typically, pre-orders open right after that. Good luck!

Pre-Orders for the San Diego Comic-Con Mattel Exclusives Open Next Week

Two updates from Mattel – first, for those of you going to San Diego Comic-Con this year, the pre-order window for the Mattel exclusives opens up on Monday next week at 8AM PST for current subscribers (who have Early Access) and Tuesday at 9AM PST for open access for everyone. Here’s the bundle page for the SDCC 2013 voucher sale.
