How Much Would You Pay for this Gigantic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Krang?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Krang by First Gokin 01

When Playmates first revealed prototypes at San Diego Comic-Con last year for Shredder and Krang in their 6-inch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classics line, I heard a lot of comments about their small stature compared to the turtles. While I can concede the point, about Krang especially, I think Shredder may still fit in nicely with the turtles from NECA’s Turtles, who are slightly smaller than the ones from Playmates.

Now I’ve come across pictures of an upcoming import figure of Krang, said to be coming from First Gokin (Tong Meng Ex) in June this year. It has a huge 10-inch mechanical body – Krang can be removed from the cockpit in its torso, and the cockpit has an internal light-up feature. The body looks like it has a decent amount of articulation, comes with interchangeable hands / axes, and has some diecast metal parts.

Weekend Toy Run: Black Friday / Cyber Monday Online Toy Deals Round-Up (Updated)

Want to avoid the crowds on Black Friday, or resting your feet after spending all night at the stores? Kick back, relax, and shop for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals from the comfort of your home (or wherever you may be visiting from)!

I apologize in advance for any duds – I haven’t had the chance to check all of these out myself. But what else are we gonna do today? 😀 Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

Weekend Toy Run: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Movie Exclusive In Stock at Toys R Us

While we were busy at San Diego Comic-Con, our good friend Paul was keeping an eye out for online deals, and sent us this info. All four Playmates Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Classic Collection figures from the original 1990 movie are in stock – they are exclusive to Toys R Us. Each is $19.99, and if you get all four you’ll trigger free shipping for orders over $49.

While these could use just a little more paint to give that turtle skin some spots and texture, that should be easy enough for anyone to do. I’m hoping that Leonardo’s expression won’t look so [add your descriptor here – mine is “constipated”] in hand. Thanks to Paul for the heads up!

Toy Fair 2014: Playmates Adds 1990 Movie Turtles to TMNT Classics Line-Up

Go ninja! Go ninja, go! Playmates has added Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo from the 1990 live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie to their TMNT Classics line. Although this was not confirmed by Playmates representatives at Toy Fair, I’m giving kudos to Playmates for what is sizing up to be a big public service. Older fans like you and me will be able to take comfort with these figures, as Michael Bay proceeds to destroy another childhood memory this summer. 😉

While I generally like what they’ve done with these figures, I think with the individualized head sculpts they could have gone a little further, with Raphael in particular. The belts ride high, and some freckles would really cement the paint apps. With the new movie coming out this summer, I get why Playmates would release these – but we really need some Classics Foot Ninjas and Shredder.

Happy New Year! – Watch the Marvel Legends Wolverine Epic Split

Marvel Legends Wolverine Epic Split

Hope you had a great holiday. If you did any surfing over the past couple weeks, you probably encountered the Chuck Norris Epic Christmas Split, the interweb’s response to the Jean Claude Van Damme Epic Split commercial that was produced by Volvo.

Not to be outdone, the Marvel Legends Wolverine from Toy Biz one ups them both, with some help from a couple of Hasbro Sentinels from the Marvel Universe line. The video is from Reckless Abandonment Pictures, the guys who brought us some action figure stop motion videos for the openings of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and X-Men cartoons.

We’ll get back into the swing of things this week – in the meantime, enjoy the video!
