STGCC 2013: Hot Toys Marvel, DC, Terminator, and G.I. JOE

STGCC 2013 Hot Toys 01

Our good friend Jedd is at the Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention, and has sent us in this update from the Hot Toys booth. He writes:

Here are some photos of this year’s Marvel-heavy Hot Toys display, including three dioramas: one of the Avengers eating their shawarma, one of Odin banishing Thor to Earth as Loki looks on, and Tony Stark in his workshop, putting together the latest “mark” of his suit of armour. There was also a display employing the use of holographic projection technology.

With that one of a kind Bruce Banner, it’ll be tough to recreate that shawarma scene – unless Hot Toys has plans for the puny human. Jedd also sent in pics of the Hot Toys DC, Terminator, and G.I. JOE figures.

SDCC 2013: Diamond Select Toys Marvel Select, Minimates and More

SDCC 2013 - Diamond Select Toys

We’re still working through pics from San Diego Comic-Con. This set is from Sandman’s visit to the Diamond Select Toys booth. They had a lot on display – the usual suspects like Marvel Select and Marvel Minimates were joined by some newcomers. In the “Select” brand it looks like DST will be adding a Sin City Select line as the sequel to the Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller hit comes to fruition. On the Minimates front, it looks like Tomb Raider will be joining the Marvel and Walking Dead lines. And who doesn’t love Femme Fatales?

I’ll have to review my own DST pics – I am surprised not to see Star Trek Select in here. I’m not sure if that’s because they didn’t have any on display or if Sandman hates Star Trek. I think I would recall if they had anything on display past Kirk, Spock, and Picard. [/Ron]

SDCC 2013: Hasbro Marvel Panel Video

Hasbro Marvel Universe 2014 (from Panel)

Hasbro held its Marvel panel yesterday afternoon, featuring Adam Biehl, Dwight Stall, and Maalvika Mantripragada from the Hasbro Marvel team, and Jesse Falcon from Marvel licensing. They elaborate on the plans touched upon during our interview with Adam and Dwight for the Marvel Universe brand (that encompasses the Legends 6-inch and Universe 3.75-inch lines) – those plans include a brand refresh and new options for distribution.

Some new figure prototypes revealed during the panel will be in the Hasbro Marvel booth today, so stay tuned for some Instapics.
