Hasbro Reveals SDCC-Exclusive Marvel Legends Battle for Asgard Box Set (via Nerdist)

On the heels of their Marvel Legends 12-inch Daredevil, Hasbro has revealed a comics-based Thor box set as its 6-inch Marvel Legends exclusive for San Diego Comic-Con. The Mighty Thor: Battle for Asgard box set, unveiled at Nerdist, will include the Odinson (Unworthy Thor), his grandfather Bor, Malekith the Accursed, and Ulik the Rock Troll. But make no mistake -the headliner is the current wielder of Mjolnir in the comics – Jane Foster, aka Thor.

Review: Extreme Sets Multiverse Collection Series 2

Hey what’s up? It’s Bill the action figure comics guy here. I just got my hands on the Extreme Sets Multiverse Collection Series 2 dioramas, and I must say I am very impressed (and very happy) with all of them. Now, as some of you may or may not know, I’ve been doing full length comics using action figures for about 900 years, (or maybe it’s more like 15-years), and I must say if Extreme Sets had been around back when I started it would have made my life a whole lot easier (and my comics look a whole lot better).

Toy Fair 2017: Hasbro Marvel Press Pics

Hasbro held their Collector Preview yesterday (read our Toy Fair 2017: Hasbro Marvel Legends Report to get caught up) and this morning they shared their press pics for a bunch of their Marvel Legends products. They’ve included a lot of the retailer exclusives that were not available on the showroom floor.

Toy Fair 2017: Hasbro Marvel Legends Report

What’s clear coming out of this year’s Hasbro Collector Preview is that the Marvel team’s decision to rebrand the Marvel Legends to tie to mass media has been a success. This year, Legends is being driven not only by three movie releases in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also by its extended TV properties on ABC and Netflix and several animated shows. The result is a healthy line-up that spans mass retail releases and exclusives for both traditional and online specialty retailers.

And what about those properties that still fall outside of Marvel Studios control? Hasbro is still finding a way to leverage them with comics-based figures.

SDCC 2016 - Hasbro Marvel Legends Update (57 of 57)

Hasbro may have jump-started SDCC 2016 by revealing the latest figures in the upcoming Marvel Legends Spider-Man and Dr. Strange waves, but they’ve continued to add goodness to their booth display each day. That’s culminated with the official reveals during their panel discussion earlier today.
