SDCC 2013: Hasbro Marvel Universe Rebranded to the Marvel Movies

After 6 years running with the Marvel Universe brand, in 2014 Hasbro will be refreshing both its Marvel Universe and Marvel Legends lines. During the Hasbro Marvel panel, Hasbro revealed that next year, Marvel Universe will be rebranded to the Avengers, while Legends will be aligned with the Marvel movies during the year.

The Hasbro Marvel team revealed two of three movies that would carry the Legends line forward: Captain America and Spider-Man. Presumably the third will be Guardians of the Galaxy, although Hasbro is still staying mum.

Watch Marvel Super Heroes: What The–?! Ep. 21 Wolverine: Partial Recall

Marvel Super Heroes What The-- Ep. 21

Speaking of summer blockbusters, The Wolverine opens July 26. And while I can’t forgive 20th Century Fox for damaging the franchise with the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie and killing any hope for a Ryan Reynolds Deadpool movie, I’m even more concerned about what they might do to ruin the classic Claremont / Miller comics collaboration that still holds up over 30 years later.

Putting all that aside, one thing we can all look forward to is a Wolverine action figure send-up from the MSH: What The–?! crew at Marvel. They haven’t released one yet for the upcoming movie, but this one’s an oldie but goodie from a couple years back. Enjoy!
