Toy Fair 2014: Hasbro Reveals Full Captain America: The Winter Soldier Line-Up

Captain America Marvel Legends Infinite Series 2

Their Toy Fair event is just a couple days away (and sadly, weather may prevent me from making it this year), but Hasbro is still sharing high res photographs and product info on the Captain America: The Winter Soldier product line. Winter Soldier is the first ofthree Marvel tentpole movie releases this year, opening April 4.

We’ve now got nice clear pics of wave 2 of the Captain America Marvel Infinite Series 6-Inch Legends line (I’ll call it Cap Legends to save some stress on my keyboard) and the rest of the line, including the 3.75-inchers and role play. While most of the kid-oriented toys are of limited interest to me, I’m glad Hasbro has figured out how to leverage the Marvel movies to get us more 6-inch Legends. So far, so good!

The Pre-Toy Fair 2014 Hasbro Marvel Update

This upcoming weekend we’ll be braving the cold weather in New York City to attend the Hasbro Toy Fair Preview, of which Marvel will be one of the major brands to show – among others, Transformers, Star Wars, and in a limited capacity, G.I. JOE. But we’ve got some catching up to do, so here are some updates to the Hasbro Marvel lines which will bring us up to speed before the big event.

Toy Fair 2013: NECA Lone Ranger

NECA Lone Ranger (1 of 6)

Yes, I still have Toy Fair pictures, and I need a break from all the Iron Man hoopla. And what could be a better respite from hi-tech armor than an old-fashioned gunslinger and his faithful Indian companion? I’d hoped by now to hear more about NECA’s Lone Ranger toys, but I suppose with the movie pushed back to a July 3 opening, we still have a couple of weeks before we should start to see some product hit retail shelves.

At Toy Fair, NECA promoted two lines – one in 7-inch scale and one in 1/4 scale (like the NECA 1/4 scale Batman figures). What they had on display, however, was a bit confusing. I don’t think the larger figures are the 1/4 scale figures – they looked a little too small for that to me. I actually think those are 2-ups for the 7-inch figures. Entertainment Earth and BigBadToyStore have the 7-inchers estimated to arrive some time in May.

Toy Fair 2013: Square Enix Play Arts Kai

I am getting around to posting pics in the backlog from Toy Fair. My tag team partner from Fwoosh, Hagop, did such a great job with coverage that the pressure was off to get things posted – but I realized that I had more stuff in the backlog than I actually posted.

Here’s a look at the Play Arts Kai offerings from Square Enix. The 8-inch scale is a bit of an anomaly for the rest of my collection, but between the quality of sculpt and articulation scheme I put the Play Arts Kai Street Fighters on my Best of 2012 list. They’re continuing the line with more Street Fighter 4 figures – just not fast enough for my liking.

Poll: Where Do You Stand on the Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull?

Masters of the Universe Classics Castle Grayskull (1 of 12)

With the final pre-order window coming to a close on Monday, I’d like to take a pulse check on where you stand on Castle Grayskull – and no, that’s not a flimsy attempt at escape ledge humor. Up until Toy Fair, we had seen drawings, foam mockups, and teasers – now that the first painted prototype has been shown, what’s the verdict? Has seeing the Castle changed your mind one way or the other?
