Transformers Masterpiece Rodimus Prime

“One day, an Autobot shall rise from our ranks, and use the power of the matrix to light our darkest hour.”

Ahh, Rodimus Prime, Hotrod – some people hate him and some people love him. One thing is for sure though – he’s got The Touch. And so does Hasbro, releasing their 5th domestic Masterpiece release. How does Rodimus compare to past Masterpiece releases?

San Diego Comic-Con 2011 – Hasbro Unveils Marvel Legends Heroic Age Thor and More Exclusives on Attack of the Show

Hasbro unveiled the San Diego Comic-Con Marvel Legends Heroic Age Thor exclusive on Attack of the Show last night, and it looks awesome. Verily! The Mjolnir packaging is clever, but I don’t think it will survive the trip back home. I wonder if the $24.99 price tag will deter folks from jumping back on the Marvel Legends bandwagon.

They also showed off the GI JOE / Transformers crossover exclusive with Cobra Commander and Skystriker, priced at $49.99. And then there’s the lost Indiana Jones exclusives, packaging up the last wave of figures (plus a few more) that never made it to retail. San Diego Comic Con 2011 – Hasbro Exclusive GI Joe and Transformers Press Pics

Why share the Hasbro GI Joe and Transformers exclusives for SDCC in one post?

Because the arguably coolest exclusive from Hasbro this year features the crossover Transformers Skystriker with GI Joe’s (well, Cobra’s, actually) Cobra Commander.

This exclusive harkens back to the four issue limited series, G.I. Joe and the Transformers, from way back in 1987. It shares the same title logo, and is aptly numbered as Issue 5.

Also available at SDCC – Zarana from the Dreadnoks in two variations, as well as Optimus Prime in “Ultimate” and “Zero” incarnations.

BotCon 2011 – Hasbro Kre-O Transformers

At BotCon, Hasbro also revealed their new construction line called Kre-O. They’re launching it with the Transformers brand, featuring some characters from the original G1 series as well as the Transformers movies. Each construction set has parts to build a Transformer in it’s robot mode as well as it’s vehicle mode. They also include mini-figures (Kreons) of Transformers characters and generic humans in select sets, it seems most of them have Kreons except for the really basic sets. I loved the Kreons – I would’ve bought them alone if they were selling them!
